Getting around safely is one of the first things families worry about when a parent’s needs change. A little unsteadiness on the stairs, a close call getting out of a chair, or a recent fall can be the moment a family starts looking for more support.

Mobility assistance at Arcadia means personal, hands-on help with moving through the day safely and comfortably, within a familiar home where caregivers know each resident well.

Assisted-Living Services at Arcadia

Every assisted-living Arcadia home is a small, familiar place where caregivers know each resident as a person. Support is built around the individual and adjusts as needs change.

Hospice Support

When a resident is receiving hospice support, remaining in a familiar home among people who know them can mean a great deal. Arcadia can coordinate with a resident's licensed hospice provider so that care continues within the approved plan. Arcadia's caregivers continue providing personal assistance and comfort, while the hospice organization delivers its own services. Arcadia is an assisted-living home, not a hospice provider.

Rehabilitation Support

Recovering after a hospital stay or surgery often takes time and steady, everyday support. Arcadia's caregivers provide personal assistance during recovery, including help with daily routines, meals, and moving safely around the home. Physical and occupational therapy are clinical services, and when a resident needs them, Arcadia coordinates with the resident's physician and visiting therapists.

Memory and Cognitive Support

For a person living with dementia or other memory changes, familiarity and routine matter. Arcadia's memory support focuses on calm communication, meaningful daily activities, familiar surroundings, and knowing each resident's personal history and preferences. Caregivers adjust support as needs change and work closely with families, respecting the person is the most important thing.

A Look Inside Arcadia's Assisted-Living Homes

How Mobility Support Improves Daily Life in Our Assisted-Living Homes

In a smaller home, caregivers see each resident throughout the day. They come to know a person’s usual pace, which side they prefer to be supported on, when they tire, and what a good day versus a harder day looks like. That familiarity is part of what helps residents move safely and keep as much independence as possible.

Personalized Care & Support

How Mobility Support Improves Daily Life in Our Assisted-Living Homes

Support is built around the individual and may include help with:

  • Getting in and out of bed
  • Standing up from and sitting down in chairs
  • Walking to meals, activities, and shared living spaces
  • Moving safely around the home and outdoor areas
  • Using a cane, walker, or wheelchair
  • Steadying support on stairs or uneven ground
  • Transferring safely with the right technique and, when needed, more than one caregiver
